Royal Oak Youth Assistance Programs

Casework Services

ROYA offers confidential, short-term, family centered counseling and referral services for youth, 17 and under, who live in Royal Oak. Referrals come from schools, police, parents, and the community. A caseworker assesses each child's needs, providing counseling, connecting families to resources and making referrals. (see resources below for application)

Skill Building Scholarships

Royal Oak Youth Assistance provides scholarships to youth who would benefit from a

positive learning experience, designed to enhance their self-esteem and develop a

specific skill. Scholarships can be used for tutoring, sports, dance, music, art, or other

skill building activities. (see resources below for application)

Youth Recognition

Youth Recognition is an annual event in which we recognize young people for making

positive contributions to the community. Nominations come from schools, fire and police

departments, and private citizens who have been helped by a young person.

Camp Scholarships

Camp scholarships are provided to young people who would benefit from either a day

camp or overnight experience.

Second Step

The Second Step program helps students build social emotional skills like nurturing positive relationships, managing emotions, and meeting goals so they can thrive in school and in life.

Family Education

Royal Oak Youth Assistance offers a variety of programs all aimed at improving

communication between parents and their children, understanding child development,

and enhancing parenting skills.
